Производство сухого льда для применения на транспорте/охлаждения

Dry ice nuggets, block, pellets and slabs are being used for packaging and shipping throughout many industries.

Airline Catering

Most airlines rely on dry ice for on-board cooling, especially on long-haul flights. Dry ice slabs are placed in food trolleys to keep food and drinks chilled or frozen until it is time to prepare/ serve.

Dry ice is popular within the airline industry because of its many benefits:

  • it has three times the refrigeration power of water ice
  • sublimates without leaving any residue (i.e. no risk of soggy food)
  • is non-toxic
  • is non-flammable
  • is tasteless and odorless

Food Packaging and Distribution

Dry ice is recommended for transporting frozen products [0°C to -20°C] such as ice cream or steaks, especially with long durations of 2 or more days. Product must be secured within the container since dry ice gets smaller as it sublimates.

Medical Samples & Pharmaceutical Distribution

Dry ice is commonly used to transport biological samples (i.e. tissue, blood) and temperature-sensitive biomedical/ pharmacological products during the shipping process. Dry ice is often used for since it offers extended cooling for the payload.

Molded containers are ideal for use with dry ice. Be sure that your product will remain fully secure within the container, especially through time after the dry ice shrinks in size. Make sure to surround your product (top, bottom, sides) to ensure uniform freezing.
